The WP Help plugin is a great way to show documentation and help articles within the WordPress admin area. Developed by Mark Jaquith, version 1.0 was released recently.

wordpress-help-pluginSome of the more elegant features include:

Document Syncing

This feature helps you pull in help documents from another WP Help install, automatically updating when the source documents change. Perfect for WordPress multisite installs, or consultants with a large number of client installs.

Menu Placement

A super fancy live preview lets you see where you would best want to the place the menu for it.

Edit Links & Management Links

Users with permissions will get an edit link for their documents. A “Manage” link allows you to get back to the documents management interface.

Dashboard Widget

There is now a simple dashboard widget, listing all of your help documents.

Check out the release post on Mark’s blog to get an overview of all the features, and the official download page for WP Help.

One more thing…WP Help is powered by WordPress Custom Post Types, so you create content using the full WordPress editor.
